Rookies:

The Rookies division is a non-competitive program for girls age 6-7 as of 12/31/2022. This division will focus on learning the basics of the game, rules, positions and having fun learning the game of softball. The Rookies program will run from mid-April through the end of June. The season will start with players hitting from a batting tee and progress to coach pitch when player skill has sufficiently developed. During coach pitch, any player or coach may elect to use a tee  anytime, for any player. A 50 foot softball diamond shall be utilized. There will be no scoring, no standings, and no playoffs in the Rookies division. All players will receive a jersey and a hat.

 

Minors Division:

The Minors division is a competitive program for girls age 8-10 as of 12/31/2022. This division will emphasize on skill building but players will be taught some of the advanced skills for certain positions. Girls in this division will pitch to opposing batters utilizing a 35 foot pitching distance. All games are played on a full-size softball field, there will be a 5-run maximum per inning and scoring and standings will be recorded. Runners will be allowed to steal bases but not until the ball crosses the plate. There will be a limit on the number of steals allowed per inning. The season will run from early April through early June. Scoring, standings and a playoff system are all part of the Minors division. Minors Division players shall have "tryouts" (player evaluations) to be used for the purpose of drafting fair and equitable teams.

 

Majors Division:

The Majors division is a competitive softball program for girls age 10-12 as of 12/31/2022. Basic skill development is still stressed at the Majors level, but some players may be asked to concentrate on mastering the subtleties of specific positions. Girls in this division will pitch to opposing batters from a mound located 40 feet from home plate. Runners are allowed to steal bases, and there may be a cap on runs and steals per inning (to be determined). The season runs from early April through early June. Scoring, standings and a playoff system are all part of the Majors division. Majors Division players shall have "tryouts" (player evaluations) to be used for the purpose of drafting fair and equitable teams. 12 year old players, assessed capable, may be dual rostered to both a majors team and a juniors team (L.L. Regulation I/IV).

 

Juniors Division:

The Juniors division is a competitive softball program for girls age 13-14 as of 12/31/2022. Basic skill development is still stressed at the Juniors level, but some players may be asked to concentrate on mastering the subtleties of specific positions. Girls in this division will pitch to opposing batters from a mound 43 feet from home plate. Runners are allowed to steal bases, and there may be a cap on runs per inning (to be determined). The season runs from early April through early June, but may be adjusted to run as late as August due to school team conflict. Scoring, standings and a playoff system are all part of the Juniors division. Girls of Junior division age have the choice to play competitive softball in the Juniors Division, or recreational softball in the Prime Division  (possibly both if they choose).

 

Prime Division:

The Prime division is a semi-competitive softball program for girls age 13-18 as of 12/31/2022. This division is purely recreational and is not part of the structure of Little League International. Games in this division are played on a standard softball diamond, with players pitching from a 43 foot mound. Scoring is part of this division however there are no standings or playoffs. Games are played in an intra-mural/exhibition manner. Girls of Junior & Senior Division age have the choice to play competitive softball in the Juniors/Seniors Division, or recreational softball in the Prime Division  (possibly both if they choose).
